Founding Partner
Ali has been on both sides of the table. He co-founded Huddle in 2006 and ran it as CEO for nine years, raising over $75m, took it to the US and growing the team to around 200 people across five offices before its exit.
He then spent a decade in San Francisco as Partner and Co-head of EQT Ventures, where he sat on the investment committee across three funds ($2.4bn in total) and ran the US, UK and France offices.
He's been on the boards of Handshake, Standard.ai, Beamery, Permutive and Flow Engineering, among others. Ali trained as a marine engineer at Southampton, which probably explains why he's happiest on a boat.
Founding Partner
Michelle started out as a chemical engineer, and she still thinks like one. Before co-founding Odyssey she was Investment Director at AP Ventures, the industrial and climate tech investor.
She put $95m to work across ten start-ups in the UK, Europe and the US, and sat on a lot of boards along the way, including as Chair of a Danish startup. Before that she spent seven years at Anglo American, where she set up and ran its digital and innovation hub and looked after its venture investments.
She began her career at L.E.K. Consulting in Sydney. Michelle loves mentoring new founders and investors, and she's never far from a beach or hiking trail.
Partner, Capital Formation
Izzy looks after our investors. That means raising our funds, building relationships with LPs, and putting together co-investment opportunities alongside the fund.
She's done this for a long time. She ran investor relations at Hoxton Ventures, sat on the Executive Board at Molten Ventures, and co-founded Outsized Ventures, backing deep tech and science companies. Before venture, she built and sold two communications businesses working with tech companies and VCs in London, New York and San Francisco.
She served on the Innovate UK Council from 2020 to 2026 and has been an angel investor since 2011. When she's not at her desk, she's usually with her horses.
CFO
Emma keeps Odyssey running properly: finance, operations, governance and investor reporting. She's spent 15 years doing this across venture, private equity, hedge funds and asset management.
Most recently she was Head of Finance and Operations at Repeat VC, where she launched their second fund and ran their SPVs. Before that she was CFO/COO at Nosara Capital.
She also spent six years at CRUX Asset Management, where she rose to Finance Director and a seat on the Executive Committee. Emma trained at PwC, is a Chartered Accountant, and studied Economics at Edinburgh.
Chief of Staff
If something's happening at Odyssey, Claire has probably organised it. She joined us from EQT, where she spent eight years.
Most recently she ran the leadership team at EQT Ventures and helped with what was then the largest European venture fundraise. Before that she managed the global diary of the Chairman of Vedanta Resources, which meant a lot of time zones and some very high-profile rooms.
Her career started in international events with IMG. Outside work, she has a habit of collecting qualifications: in the last couple of years alone she's become a ski instructor, a paragliding pilot and a safari guide.
