Potential Sciences is the frontier lab for chemistry, generating new training data from the laws of physics so scientists can predict how a molecule will behave before anyone makes it. Potential Sciences is starting with drug discovery - saving years in failed experiment costs.

Founder Hatem Helal spent four years at Graphcore proving that AI models get dramatically better at chemistry when you feed them enough simulated data — then ran into the wall that the software for generating it was written for 1980s hardware. Rather than work around it, he rebuilt quantum chemistry from the equations up for modern GPUs. We backed Hatem when Potential Sciences was just a Notion page and are in awe of the progress he’s made since then.
